As a BlackBerry girl at heart it’s always hard for me to admit when the iPhone wins in any way. I can almost always find some way to downplay even the most obviously superior features because it’s become second nature for me to always believe my BlackBerry crushes all other devices of it’s kind. But unfortunately I must admit, as far as WordPress is concerned iPhone > BlackBerry. *sigh*. I don’t even want to talk about all the reasons why as it would be too painful…it just is. The only thing that offers a slight glimmer of comfort is knowing I can crank out posts so much more efficiently on my BlackBerry Storm keyboard.
Clearly I’ll have to go rant about this to a friend on BlackBerry Messenger as a reminder of one of the huge things I love about my Berry that the iPhone will never have.
I have a few Twitter accounts but I don’t use them much except to tweet new blog entries whenever I write an article for a site. I follow tons of people, but I rarely read their entries because…well…I really don’t care that “they’re driving around the parking lot at Walmart trying to find a spot” or “having a touch of heart burn after a slice of pizza” lol.
But today I experienced some of the best of Twitter. It’s been a while since I’ve had a Twitter client on my BlackBerry and I know the beta versions of UberTwitter and SocialScope have probably evolved a lot.. I didn’t feel like digging up tons of UberTwitter vs. SharkScope posts on CrackBerry so I posted on Twitter asking which client people preferred and which was better on battery life, memory, etc. Within minutes I had a whole slew of responses from BlackBerry users weighing on on the pros and cons of each client. I asked a few follow up questions which were answered equally as fast. It was like having a massive, instant virtual help desk at your finger tips. This is of course also a testament to the awesomeness of BlackBerry users who are such a helpful and cool bunch from what I’ve experienced on the various forums like CrackBerry and BlackBerryOS.
So I think I will be turning to Twitter for advice more often. I’m off to cook dinner now which has me thinking I should tweet asking for some good recipes :)
